Two Workshops in
Sequence

9 - Presentation: Design for
End-of-Life Management, full day
May 10 - Laboratory work, half day
Dr. Ab Stevels,
a world authority on environmental design, will be the instructor for both
workshops. Dr. Stevels is a
principal in the environmental design program at Philips Electronics and
he teaches “Eco Design for Competitive Advantage” at Delft University
of Technology in The Netherlands. He
also teaches environmental design at Stanford and Georgia Tech.
These workshops
will focus on specific electronic product end-of-life design strategies
and trade-offs, and hands-on methods of product analysis including
disassembly of two television sets. The
workshop will address detail-level questions.
Reading materials will be provided in advance so that all
participants have a common basis in end-of-life management in the U.S. and
Europe.
