Public Agency EMS Group MeetingsThe Local Resource Center hosts a Public Agency EMS Group with bi-monthly "brown bag" meetings for interested individuals from public entities. These meetings provide the opportunity to meet peers with similar interests. The meetings are usually held at Portland's TriMet offices at 710 NE Holladay Street, Portland, Oregon. These meetings cover topics of interest to the attendees including tools, training opportunities, incentives available, upcoming events, solutions to specific problems and general information sharing. for more details. ISO 14001 Lead Auditor TrainingDate: TBD, Location: Northwest, Cost: $1695 This rigorous 5-day course trains participants to audit an EMS to the requirements of ISO 14001. Topics include: interpreting the standard, planning audits, follow-ups, and the certification process. The course includes an examination that can be used to qualify internal or third-party auditors. NOTE: This course assumes that participants have some knowledge of ISO 14001 and some auditing experience. This course is offered in conjunction with International Quality Associates and is RAB-QSA approved through a partnership with AQS Management Systems. ISO Environmental Management System Training Class (TC-1) Date: TBD, Location: Northwest, Cost: $4160 This two-day on-site EMS introduction and implementation class is a combination of lecture and exercises. Internal Auditing to ISO 14001 Date: TBD, Location: Northwest, Cost: $895 Day one of this dynamic course delves deeply into the ISO 14001 standard, and includes exercises which reinforce training about the EMS and ISO 14001. On days 2 and 3 the class is divided into small teams allowing every participant to get hands on experience conducting a limited EMS audit of a host company under the guidance of an experienced EMS auditor.
