TestimonialsHere's what some of our SCORE clients have said about the experience. “I think that SCORE is an excellent tool to help an organization assess its internal strengths and weaknesses with respect to sustainability. I think it can be very helpful to organizations that are committed to sustainability and have a desire to improve and excel.” —Dean Kubani, City of Santa Monica —Clark Brockman, SERA Architects —Chuck Gatchell, Nike “This assessment was very valuable. It tells you where you are now but also gives you ideas of projects you should undertake to become sustainable. It was easy to use and a good reality check for how far we need to go.” —Administrative manager in a City Case StudiesOf course, your SCORE results would be held confidential. But some clients make their results public. Please see one example below where SCORE was used as part of a much larger assessment. Corvallis, OregonIn the fall of 2005, the Zero Waste Alliance assessment team was hired by the City of Corvallis to conduct a thorough assessment of their sustainability performance. In addition to the use of SCORE, the ZWA team also reviewed publicly available materials, interviewed key members, conducted focus groups, and visited sites. The ZWA team strives not only to assess the client's current performance but also to move the client measurably forward. To that end, we formed a steering committee of top management and front line employees and used that committee to conduct SCORE and to make strategic decisions about the future of their sustainability efforts. Corvallis asked that we produce two reports: an assessment of their performance to date and a separate report of recommendations for the future. These are available on the City's website.
